Nonnie, 56 yrs 4 mo (F)

Cane Corso Mastiff
lowNeeds Yard

Welcome Nonnie! This big sweet mature Mastiff girl and little Yorkiepoo type girl appeared in a remote area, apparently dumped, and they roamed together for weeks before being brought to safety at a shelter. It's a wonderful story of friendship and survival and these two get along great. We're guessing little Nellie wouldn't have survived on her own with coyotes and other risks if Nonnie hadn't been there to protect her. Nonnie appears to be a Cane Corso and is underweight at 90 pounds.... Nonnie appears to be a Cane Corso and is underweight at 90 pounds. She needs at least another 5-10 pounds to be a healthy weight and she was covered in fleas and ticks when found. She has clearly had some litters but seems like a sweet, mellow, well adjusted girl, and she's endlessly patient with the shenanigans of her tiny companion. Sometimes dogs who appear bonded absolutely thrive in individual loving homes, and other times they are truly happiest kept together. We will continue to assess what's best for their needs. We're grateful to our shelter friends for keeping them safe, and to our friends at Big Dog Rescue, who pulled them from the shelter and lovingly cared for them until they could make their way to Dogwood. The girls have been spayed and fully vetted.
