Terrier / Dachshund Mix Age: 1.5 yrs Male, neutered 22 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Click here for adoption application Rupert came to us from the Sacramento County with an injured rear leg (probably from being hit by a car). X-rays indicated that his left rear ankle had been shattered. There were 2 options: amputation of the leg or an expensive arthrodesis surgery.... Meet Rupert! We were fortunate to find a vet that was willing to offer us a discount on the repair surgery so that we could save his leg. Rupert is doing well, occasionally favoring the injured leg, but using it most of the time. He isn’t in pain, but will most assuredly develop arthritis that may need some pain control in the future. He is little skittish at times, but once he is comfortable, he is mostly a very outgoing, friendly, playful, affectionate young dog. He would do well in a home with another young playful dog.
