Chelsea! Pretty, sweet Chelsea came to Dogwood as a pregnant stray. She had six tiny puppies in our care that have all gotten adopted into their forever homes. When Chelsea came into our rescue she was incredibly thin as a result of giving her all to the growth of her puppies. But, that wasn't the only reason for her extremely bony frame. Chelsea had been observed having some digestion problems after she had eaten.... Chelsea! Pretty, sweet Chelsea came to Dogwood as a pregnant stray. When Chelsea came into our rescue she was incredibly thin as a result of giving her all to the growth of her puppies. But, that wasn't the only reason for her extremely bony frame. Chelsea had been observed having some digestion problems after she had eaten. Her foster mom had seen this before and implemented a very easy routine of feeding her with a raised dish, in a vertical position, and then hugging and snuggling her and having sweet upright time together for 10 minutes after eating so that gravity could assist Chelsea's digestion. Chelsea has what is called megaesophagus. Chelsea's foster mom describes her routine as very simple to do, and that it is especially nice to spend time with her after her meals. It's now time for this precious four-ish year old, 10 pound, Pomeranian/dachshund type girl to find her forever loving home. Chelsea's getting ready with a bath so that she is pretty for visiting our partner veterinarian for her dental, and spay appointment.
