Welcome to a beautiful new life Maria! On arrival I held this beautiful girl in my arms and snuggled her close, I could feel her heartbeat against my own chest. I could smell the sweet scent of her coat and feel the warmth of her body against my skin. She gave me some sweet kisses as she realized she was safe and I was brought to tears by the thought of her close call and by the current overpopulation crisis that we're in.... She gave me some sweet kisses as she realized she was safe and I was brought to tears by the thought of her close call and by the current overpopulation crisis that we're in. So many will never get the chance this baby has and that is a source of endless grief. But we can only do our best, and for darling Maria, today is the start of a wonderful new life. We pulled this puppy off of a euthanasia list in a crowded shelter today. She's just a baby who will now have a chance for a long beautiful life, but we would far rather have seen this darling soul gently euthanized in a shelter than turned away, dumped and abandoned on the side of the road to reproduce a bunch of unwanted puppies and subject to endless suffering before dying in a gutter somewhere. The sad reality is that there are far more dogs than homes.
